Design and Earn your Own Badge!
We want to recognise and celebrate everyone across Greater Manchester North Scout County who continues their Scouting adventures by participating in Scouting activities at home throughout the COVID-19 lockdown.
One of the ways we are doing this is to launch a ‘Scout at Home’ badge for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and Adults. Everyone who participates will be entitled to a badge based on the winning badge design when we return to normal Scout meetings. The GMN Scouts County Commissioner has given permission for this badge to be worn as an occasional badge in the appropriate place until the end of 2021.

In true Scouting style, we’d like to encourage you to scout. We have come up with five very simple criteria that you can adapt to suit your interests and the stage of your scouting journey. You can download all of the resources you need at the bottom of this page.
To be entitled to this badge, you should:
Enter at least one badge design into the county competition using the design template. The closing date for this 1st June 2020.
For Young People:
Complete at least one badge per month, at home. This can be from your current section or, if you are due to move up, you could start your new section’s badges.
Explorers, you may choose from your Activity, Stage Activity badges or Scout Activity badges or you may do one badge PER WEEK from Cub or Beavers badges you didn’t complete when you were a member of that section.
For Adults (leaders, Scout Network members, parents and helpers):
Complete at least one badge per month at home:
You can choose badges from whichever section you like and you can buy a Scouts at Home badge to wear too once you’ve completed all of the requirements! Go to this link here and choose your section where all the badge criteria can be found.
Spend one night in your home but not in a bed. You can make your bed anywhere that your carer agrees is safe.
Submit your evidence form to your Section Leader as you complete each section — ask your parents to help you with this.
Return to Scouting once normal weekly meetings resume.
Badges will be on sale from the County shop once you have met requirement 5.
For participants outside of the county, we’ll email you information on how to purchase the badge once they have been delivered.
